Wilkin- ''Boro aiming for three points''

 

Kevin Wilkin takes his Nuneaton Town side to Sincil Bank on Tuesday evening, hoping to make amends for the last gasp 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup 1st round proper in November 2010.

 

The Imps will be without former Nuneaton fans favourite Gary Mills, as the central midfielder was sent off at another of his former clubs, Tamworth, on Saturday afternoon for violent conduct, and begins his three match suspension.

 

Boro have selection issues of their own, with wideman Jon Adams sidelined with a groin injury which looks set to keep him out of the side for up to three weeks. Adams will continue to be assessed by the Boro medical staff throughout the week to determine the extent of the injury which he picked up at Hyde in Saturday's 2-2 draw. Another player who suffered injury at the weekend is former LA Galaxy forward Kyle Patterson. Kyle is suffering from a combination of ankle problems and knee complaints, thought to be medial ligament damage, and this could keep him sidelined for a lengthy period.

 

Simon Forsdick should be fit to continue on the left hand side for Nuneaton, but after a lengthy spell out through injury, and a lot of games played in quick succession, the option is there to bring in Steve O'Halloran or Tom James to give the hard working wing back a deserved rest if required.

 

The injury to Jon Adams should allow one of Saturday's impressive young substitutes to get an opportunity of first team league football. Ben Ford impressed both the management and fans on Saturday with his tenacious battling qualities, as well as his confidence and calm ball playing, and if Kevin keeps with the 352 formation, this could see Ben playing in the middle of the side with Jimmy Armson moved across to perform the right wing back duties.

 

Influential forward Wes York, who looks to be returning to his form of late 2011, could be in line for a recall to the starting lineup after netting twice in less than a minute at Ewen Fields on Saturday to rescue the point for his side. York's first goal was a cool slotted finish across the goalkeeper, and his second saw the look of a man with confidence as he drilled past the advancing goalkeeper from twelve yards. With Wesley in this kind of form, Boro may look to use his pace to exploit the Imps defence as Kevin Wilkin has vowed to look for victory at Sincil Bank.

 

Wilkin told Boro Web News''We may have to make a few changes through circumstances, but I was looking to freshen the side up anyway after a lot of games in recent weeks. Lincoln are in a similar position to ourselves, near to the bottom of the table and we will both be looking to get a result and to get a bit of consistency into our season. I intend to go to Lincoln and impose ourselves on the game and hopefully this will see us getting the three points which I am sure we are capable of. We completed a terrific comeback on Saturday at Hyde and there's no reason why we can't continue playing with that kind of tempo from the start and get a win.''

 

Lincoln's previous game saw them lose 1-0 at Nuneaton's arch rivals Tamworth, with both sides playing for 65 minutes with 10 men.
